Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2025
Collidera ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
1. What we collect
We collect only the data necessary to run the service:
- Activity data — wheel revolution counts, timestamps, and derived distance and speed values recorded by your sensor.
- Hamster profiles — name, wheel size, and age you enter manually in the app.
- Account information — email address used to create an account (if applicable).
- Device identifiers — anonymous sensor IDs used to associate readings with the correct hamster profile.
- App usage data — crash reports and anonymous feature-usage statistics to help us improve the app.
We do not collect location data, contacts, microphone input, or any other sensor data from your phone beyond what is listed above.
2. How we use your data
- To display activity dashboards, leaderboards, and prediction markets in the app.
- To sync data across devices associated with your account.
- To generate health insights and long-term activity trends.
- To operate prediction markets and resolve them automatically at their deadline.
- To diagnose crashes and improve app stability.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
3. Data sharing
Your data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Leaderboard — your hamster's name and distance are shown publicly on the leaderboard and in prediction markets. You can change your hamster's display name at any time.
- Service providers — we use third-party cloud infrastructure to store and process data. These providers act as data processors under our instructions and are contractually bound to protect your data.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data retention
Activity data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and activity history are deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated statistics (e.g. total distance tracked across all users) may be retained indefinitely.
5. Your rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Export your activity data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored with industry-standard protections. Sensor IDs and account credentials are never stored in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — if you discover a security issue, please report it to us responsibly.
7. Children
Collidera is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top and notify users through the app for material changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
